Our weekend of intense fun and learning will be held at the Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center, located at Lake Placid, Florida. Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center is centrally located just 85 miles south of Orlando, 150 miles north of Miami and 75 miles from the eastern and western Florida coasts
The camp is the former winter home for Melvil Dewey, the inventor of the famous Dewey Decimal System. Two of the buildings from Dewey's original Lake Placid Club are still in use by the camp today.
The venue features a beautiful Florida white sand beach situated around a clean lake, as well as other amenities. Your registration includes six meals, lodging, instruction/mentoring, morning yoga, Friday evening bonfire and interactive presentations. You will have the opportunity to select your dietary preference (vegetarian or meat) upon registration. Registration also includes our beautiful event shirt and all the fun and camaraderie you can experience.
We are very excited to offer both on-site motel style rooms and cabins for our participants. The motel style rooms have a private bathroom, two queen size beds or one queen and two twin beds. The bathroom has a shower stall, privacy toilet and double sink vanity. A Keurig coffee maker is also in each room, so bring along your own special flavor of k-cups.
All rooms and cabins are at least double occupancy. Tents are not permissible on the property. Offsite rooms are available at a nearby Holiday Inn Express hotel at a preferred rate. Please contact the Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center at 863.465.2197 for arrangements.
Six meals are included in the standard weekend and nine in the extended package. All meals will be served buffet style in the camp cafeteria. A vegetarian option will be available for all meals. Please indicate on the registration form if you have any other dietary requirements.
Note: We will have a small selection of Greenland paddles and potentially a skin on frame qajaq available
