In order to participate in the TRAQS event, there are some essential eligibility requirements for your safety and the safety of program organizers, participants and trainers. Specifically, you must be able to understand and recognize risks inherent to the activities in the program which includes being on the water in a kayak. The program will include paddling and rolling exercises which will involve being submerged for brief periods of time. You will be in kayaks both near to others participating in the program.
You must be able to monitor your personal health, assess your ability to be submerged, and your skill at swimming. While the program will take steps to assist you, you assume the risks and hazards inherent to kayaking that involves rolling and submersion. Furthermore, some of the skills employed in the program will necessarily involve feats of strength and flexibility that will vary from individual to individual and circumstance to circumstance. If you are concerned with your abilities, please contact us before registering and/or before attending TRAQS to discuss your circumstances.
In compliance with federal, state, and local laws, the TRAQS program does not discriminate on the basis of disability. If you have a disability, please let us know how this impacts your ability to participate in the program and the organizers will take steps to reasonably accommodate you. However, the organization is not required to and will not implement changes that are not readily achievable or changes that would fundamentally alter the nature of the services rendered.
While you may request a specific accommodation, the organizers are not obligated to provide the accommodation you have requested and may offer alternative accommodations if other accommodations are readily achievable. The above list of essential eligibility requirements is not exhaustive and the company reserves the right to identify other eligibility requirements in the course of assessing its ability to accommodate any disabilities.
